David Grimes is married to the former Barbara Calhoun of Opelika, Alabama and they have two sons; John David, 19 and Tyler, 15. David is a graduate of Troy University in Troy, Alabama and has been in the insurance business since 1981. He is a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church (PCA) where he serves as a Deacon.
David was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in November of 2002 for District 73 in Montgomery. He serves on the following committees: Standing Committees: Banking and Insurance, Commerce, and Internal Affairs, as well as the following Subcommittees: Economic Development and Insurance Regulations [vice chair]. He also serves on the National Council of State Legislators Labor and Workforce Committee.
David brings the experience of running a business, making payroll and assisting his wife's retail business "Barb's on Mulberry", while maintaining a healthy home environment and civic responsibility.
